fire trucks fail Allan government fails. Two in the same!

When Fire Trucks Fail, So Does the Allan Government 🔥🚒

Firefighters at Fire Station 63 Geelong City were forced to abandon their fire truck in a public car park after it suddenly stopped working while using it — leaving the truck stuck in the air and out of action.

The broken down truck is past its service life, leaving Geelong without a functioning ladder platform to protect the community.

To fill the gap, the oldest ladder platform truck in the entire state was brought in — but because it’s so outdated, no firefighters at Geelong were qualified to operate it.

So, it had to be sent to Dandenong, and Dandenong’s truck then had to be driven across the state to Geelong just to maintain coverage.

This constant reshuffling is putting both communities at risk. Mechanics work day and night, but the out of date fleet is just too much.

Meanwhile, the Allan Government has doubled the emergency services tax — while slashing over $114 million from Fire Rescue Victoria’s budget this year alone.

That money could replace around 100 fire trucks.

Instead of funding safety, Jacinta Allan would rather see Victoria burn.
