RINGWOOD FIREFIGHTERS LEFT WITHOUT A TRUCK

Firefighters at Ringwood Fire Station have been left stranded after discovering oil pouring from underneath their out-of-date pumper tanker, in what’s believed to be a major engine failure.

There are no spare fire trucks anywhere in Melbourne, leaving crews unable to respond. And with 30°C heat and dry conditions tomorrow, losing a pumper tanker vital for grass and bushfires is a recipe for disaster.

Meanwhile, the Allan Government is slashing $114 million this year alone from Fire Rescue Victoria — enough to buy 100 new trucks — while charging Victorians twice as much through the Emergency Services Tax.

The Allan Government slashes.
