Fire Station 44 (Sunshine) has now been left using a trolley as a “replacement” fire truck.
Both frontline appliances are offline due to mechanical failures — each one years beyond its service life, with one more than a decade overdue for replacement.
Their “replacement” trucks?
Even older. And now one of them has failed too.
With zero spare fire trucks left in Victoria, Sunshine firefighters have now loaded up a trolley to carry their equipment out of frustration — to demonstrate the level of fire protection residents are being left with.
Meanwhile, Victorians are paying double the Emergency Services Levy… while Fire Rescue Victoria has been hit with a $114 million funding cut this year — enough to replace around 100 fire trucks.
This is not the fire protection Victorians are paying for.
This is not the fire service firefighters deserve.
The Allan Government slashes.
Victoria burns.
