ALLAN GOVERNMENT’S MESS ON THE FIREGROUND
Firefighters from Fire Station 41 St Albans responded to a large cardboard compactor fire at Watergardens Shopping Centre, requiring firefighting foam to extinguish a deep-seated fire.
Crews from Station 48 Taylors Lakes attempted to activate their foam system — it failed.
St Albans crews then tried their own system — it also failed, dumping foam concentrate onto the ground beneath the truck.
Firefighters were left without critical equipment and an environmental mess was created.
This is the reality of the mess left by Jacinta Allan, Jaclyn Symes and Vicki Ward: ageing fire trucks, failing systems and firefighters set up to fail.
This is not an isolated incident.
It is why firefighters are demanding a Parliamentary Inquiry, not a closed-door internal review.
Victorians are paying twice as much while fire services have their funding slashed.
