Yet Another Critical Life-Threatening Fire Truck Failure!

Firefighters were called to the Love Machine nightclub in Prahran just after 2am to a fully involved structure fire. Crews from across Melbourne responded, working quickly to bring the blaze under control.

But during this critical incident, a fire truck from West Melbourne suffered a pump failure while trying to supply water — taking it out of action on the fireground.

Mechanics were called, but the truck couldn’t be fixed and is now off the road. With ageing equipment causing failures across the fleet, there are no spare trucks available to replace it.

Thankfully, no one is believed to have been inside.

But next time, this could be a family home.

How many more warnings does it take?

The Allan Government must answer why it continues to ignore public safety and refuses to act on replacing Victoria’s outdated fire trucks.
