allan cuts burwood pays

Firefighters at Fire Station 23 Burwood are now left with a broken-down fire truck, putting the community at risk.

This truck is already a replacement, brought in after Burwood’s normal fire truck went offline back in July — and now even the backup has failed.

It’s also seven years past its replacement date, and it’s showing why. The latest failure? The lockers have seized shut.

When crews tried to close one locker, it jammed open — leaving them unable to respond. A firefighter had to climb inside another locker to try to free it up. They managed to close it, but now it won’t open at all.

It’s not just engines or pumps that fail with age — it’s the small things, like seized lockers, that can stop firefighters from getting the gear they need to save lives in critical moments.

Meanwhile, the Allan Government is charging Victorians double under the new Emergency Services Tax — while slashing $114 million from Fire Rescue Victoria’s budget this year alone.

That’s enough to build 100 new fire trucks!

Instead, we’re left with broken trucks and broken promises.

The Allan Government slashes — Victoria burns.
