Allan’s Cuts Leave Wodonga Exposed

Firefighters in Wodonga have been left without a properly functioning fire truck capable of tackling grass and bushfires. The truck currently in service is already a backup — and now it’s also out of action.

The nearest spare truck is sitting in Craigieburn which is over three hours away.

This is what happens when the Allan Government refuses to invest in emergency services. Fire Rescue Victoria is facing budget cuts of more than $100 million, even as Victorians are being charged double for the emergency services tax.

This is simply not good enough. While the Premier is busy focusing on photo opportunities with the Metro Tunnel, Victorians’ lives are being put at risk.
