This afternoon a 30-hectare fire burned at Mt Cottrell near Tarneit, with around 20 fire trucks on scene.
During firefighting, an FRV Pumper Tanker suffered a failure. Smoke poured from the firefighting pump housing and crews discovered a failed diesel fuel line, making the truck unsafe to operate or drive. Mechanics have confirmed it must be towed.
While this is happening, the Allan Government is charging Victorians twice as much in emergency services levies while cutting fire service funding.
These failures are dangerous and preventable.
That’s why firefighters are calling for a PARLIAMENTARY INQUIRY.
