Boronia without a fire truck since 3pm

Firefighters at Fire Station 85 Boronia have been stuck at the station all afternoon after their truck broke down. Mechanics worked for hours before Scania technicians arrived just after 7pm – only to discover they had to drive back to a warehouse to search for the parts needed to get the fire truck back on the road. This is the reality of Victoria’s fire truck fleet: propped up, patched together, and limping from one emergency to the next.

This is a fire service at Breaking Point.

This is a fire crisis unfolding in real time.

And this is not what Victorians are paying for with their skyrocketing Emergency Services Levy. Victorians deserve a fire service they can rely on – not one left stranded while broken trucks sit idle.
