Overnight, Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) hit breaking point yet again.
🚒 Geelong City (Station 63) had a fire truck fault—but there were no spare trucks left in the entire state to replace it.
🚒 Hallam (Station 88) then suffered an engine failure, leaving the South East suburbs exposed too.
This is exactly what firefighters have been warning about for over 15 months. More than half of FRV’s fire trucks will be out of date this year, and the system is failing.
Without urgent action, FRV cannot guarantee that your local fire station will have the fire truck it needs to protect your community.
The Victorian Government must stop calling this a “world-class fire service” because right now, it’s a fire service on its knees.
