Fire Station 59 in Derrimut has been left short after a critical failure took one of its fire trucks offline — the pump controller lost information, leaving firefighters blind in operating the firefighting pump.
A smaller, less capable truck has been sent as a temporary replacement. But this is Derrimut — a hotspot for some of Victoria’s largest industrial fires — and reduced capacity here puts lives and property at risk.
This is yet another failure under FRV Commissioner Gavin Freeman’s leadership. It’s no surprise he was delivered a 90.85% vote of No Confidence in him and his executive team.
This is why firefighters have finally broken their silence in the upcoming Breaking Point documentary — premiering tonight at 6pm.
