Fire Crew Stranded After Exhaust System Fails on Return from Call

Firefighters at Fire Station 61 Lara were returning from a fire call this afternoon when they heard something dragging under the truck.

They pulled over to find the exhaust system had completely worn through and fallen off — leaving the crew stranded and another fire truck off the road.

While it’s easy to make a joke how firefighters are “exhausted” with broken fire trucks, these failures across Victoria are communities putting communities at risk.

Victorians are paying more than ever for emergency services — but this is not the fire service they were promised.

Jacinta Allan, Jaclyn Symes and Vicki Ward can’t keep ignoring firefighter and community safety.

Enough is enough.
