Fire Crisis in Footscray

Last night, Fire Station 47 Footscray faced a serious issue—their fire truck’s main pump failed, leaving firefighters unable to pump water. To make matters worse, there are no spare trucks left at Fire Rescue Victoria, forcing them to rely on neighboring stations to provide coverage.

This is unacceptable, and Commissioner Freeman is failing to act. The lack of a reliable fleet is putting our communities at risk, and it’s clear that urgent funding for a rolling replacement program is needed NOW.

Firefighters have no confidence that Commissioner Freeman will prioritize the safety of Victorians unless we demand it. It’s time for real action.
