Fire Truck almost up in flames responding to Factory Fire!

A 27 year old Ladder Platform based at Footscray was unable to fulfil its role at a Factory Fire this morning, alarmingly Firefighters have reported an oil leak on its front tyre, causing it to emit smoke and almost catch on fire itself.

It has now been placed Out of Commission.

This is yet another example of Victoria’s Fire Crisis putting Firefighters and the Community in danger.

Victoria’s Fire Rescue Fleet is out of date, unreliable and not fir for purpose.

According to Fire Rescue Victoria policy, this Truck should have been replaced 12 years ago.

But the Allan Governments failure to plan for and fund Victoria’s Fire Rescue Service properly is leaving us all in danger.

Victorians are right to ask, why do we have to put up with faulty, broken, out of date Fire Trucks whilst paying $600 million for Scotland to host the Commonwealth Games?

Victoria’s Fire Truck Crisis is real, what will it take for the Victorian Government to Act?
