FRV firefighters in Lara have recently been struggling with a truck riddled with faults, one of which involves a failure in the vehicles engine braking system, a crucial feature to slow the truck down, especially when responding to emergencies!
A glimmer of hope arrived on Friday when a spare fire truck was found, allowing their truck to be taken for critical repairs. However, that spare truck shortly went into “limp mode” on return from a fire call.
They have now had their faulty truck returned to them, with no repairs done, as there are no spares available in the state.
This is just another example of Fire Rescue Victoria’s failing fleet putting our communities at risk.
How much longer will Minister Symes and the Victorian government ignore this fire crisis?
