500 Kilometres to get to a fire because of failed trucks!

When the Caroline Springs (FS55) fire truck broke down recently, the closest spare was 250km away in Warrnambool. Crews did the 500km round trip and put the truck into service at FS55

Today, the crew at FS55 responded to a fire call and on arrival at the job the pump on this spare truck failed to engage. This is the same truck that only weeks ago locked its firefighters inside the cab on arrival at a time critical incident with an unconscious patient locked in a house.

This puts both firefighters and the community at risk. Fire Rescue Victoria’s fleet is no longer fit for purpose. It’s time for the Alan government to invest in our fire service before this Fire Crisis turns into a tragedy.
