Geelong City is now without a Heavy Rescue fire truck!

Fire Station 63 – Geelong City is now without a Heavy Rescue fire truck due to Victoria’s ongoing fire truck crisis.

This specialist appliance responds to serious vehicle accidents and rope rescues across Geelong, the Bellarine and the Surf Coast. Its loss means reduced emergency coverage for these communities.

The truck should have been replaced four years ago. Instead, it was pushed beyond its safe service life — and with the fleet in disrepair, there is no replacement available.

At the same time, Victorians are paying double the Emergency Services Tax while receiving fewer trucks, less coverage and reduced protection.

This is the direct result of the Allan Government underfunding Victoria’s fire service and putting lives at risk.

The Allan Government slashes.

Victoria burns.
