Fire Station 63 Geelong City is meant to have a Ladder Platform ready to reach people trapped in high-rise buildings or tackle fires from above.
Its current truck is past its service life and has failed — unable to deliver water from above.
Its replacement? Another Ladder Platform 6 years past its service life.
Now its booms have failed, meaning it can’t extend upwards to help those who need it.
Two trucks. Both past their service life. Both failed.
