Hazelwood Mine left at without coverage

The only Fire Rescue Victoria Fire Truck capable of entering coal mines in Latrobe Valley is Out of Commission as of 8:00am this morning.

The 14 year old Aerial Pumper has a diesel injector leak and is stationed there as a reaponse to the Hazelwood Mine Fire.

Alarmingly, Fire Rescue Victoria has been unable to find a replacement Truck, leaving Firefighters and the community at risk.

The Hazlewood Mine fire in the Summer of 2013/14 demonstrated the devastating impact that dangerously toxic smoke can cause.

Yet, the Victorian Government has failed to support Firefighters and the Community through its failure to invest in a fit for purpose Fire Rescue service.

Victorian’s deserve a world class Fire Rescue Service, they pay for it via the Fire Services Levy- what will it take for Jacinta Allan to act?
