Another day, another breakdown for our outdated fire trucks. This time, Teleboom 44 in Sunshine is stuck in the up position thanks to a broken cover, exposing critical parts to damage.
This 24-year-old truck is 9 YEARS PAST its recommended service life! It shouldn’t be on the road, let alone putting firefighters at risk. But thanks to a lack of investment by the Labor government, especially in the western suburbs, FRV is forced to rely on these ancient vehicles.
This is a FIRE CRISIS! We need investment in our fire services NOW before we see more failures across Victoria, particularly in the western region. Our firefighters and communities deserve better!
