It appears Vicki Ward MP didn’t enjoy firefighters pointing out the truth — her social media post has quietly disappeared after being met with cold, hard facts.
This is an embarrassing look for the Minister for Emergency Services. When she tries to “engage” with FRV, she chooses to stand beside Gavin Freeman — the Commissioner who received a 90.85% vote of no confidence from his own workforce — and pretends everything is fine in front of a couple of trucks.
What she doesn’t show the public is the reality:
64% of FRV’s fire trucks are beyond their service life, with breakdowns and failures happening daily, putting both firefighters and Victorians at risk.
And why? Because the Government she represents — and the portfolio she leads — is one of the worst performing in the state when it comes to emergency services.
This year alone, the Allan Government slashed $114 million from FRV’s budget.
That’s enough to replace more than 100 of the 134 fire trucks that urgently need replacing.
Meanwhile, Victorians are being charged double through their emergency services levy.
The Minister deleted her post.
But firefighters won’t delete the truth.
The Allan Government Slashes,
Victoria Burns
