When Funding Get Slashed, Firefighters Get Stranded

Firefighters at Footscray have been left stranded twice in a week.

Last Thursday, their Ladder Platform truck broke down at the training academy.

Today, it’s happened again — another breakdown, same truck, same result: crews unable to do their job.

This Ladder Platform is only seven years old, but with no spares left, FRV can’t cover repairs or maintenance.

This is the outcome: firefighters left without the tools they need to protect the community.

The Allan Government has slashed $114 million from Fire Rescue Victoria’s budget this year alone — enough money to replace more than 100 out-of-date and unreliable fire trucks.

This is what happens when you cut emergency services to the bone.
