Victorians left at risk as Fire Truck Crisis worsens

3 out of 5 Telebooms are currently off the road.

Victoria has 5 Telebooms that perform multi storey rescue, all of which are out of date and should have been replaced years ago. 3 of these Appliances are now off the road!

But due to a lack of planning and investment these appliances have been left in service, despite an increase in faults and breakdowns.

Recently the Minister for Emergency Services, Jaclyn Symes, denied that old Trucks were not fit for purpose.

This is despite Fire Rescue Victoria having a policy of replacing Trucks after 15 years of service.

All these Trucks should have been replaced by now, instead today Victorians face the real prospect of not having a multi storey rescue appliance in case of an emergency.
