Dandenong Ladder Platform Offline

Dandenong’s 14-year-old Ladder Platform is scheduled to be taken off the road in accordance with FRV replacement policy in June next year.

However, due to a lack of planning and funding, Firefighters and the Community will be left with a Truck that is showing wear and tear. This Truck has had multiple faults reported this year.

Increasingly, Victorians are being left in without the critical role provided by Ladder Platforms in tackling a fire from height and providing an escape route when all other options are blocked.

It is likely that the community of Dandenong and Firefighters will have to rely on a 25-year-old Ladder Platform stationed at Oakleigh to provide these emergency services, should they be required.

This is a Fire Crisis.
