The Ladder Platform truck, critical for fighting structure fires and performing rescues up to 42m high, is facing serious hydraulic issues. It can only run at idle speed, and the emergency stop is causing constant problems.
This truck is vital for responding to house fires, large factory fires, and complex rescues. Despite being due for replacement in 2025 under FRV’s 15-year service policy, there’s no plan in sight from FRV management or the Victorian government.
Victorians pay a Fire Services Levy and deserve fully functional fire trucks to protect them in emergencies.
