A critical call to assist Ambulance Victoria with an unconscious patient locked in a house was delayed due to a series of failures.
All four crew members were in the truck doing truck checks when the call came in. Three crew exited to get dressed, but the officer was locked inside due to a central locking failure and the truck couldn’t respond until the issue was resolved.
When the truck arrived on scene the crew attempted to exit BUT two firefighters were now locked in the rear of the truck!
More troubleshooting and delays in assisting Ambulance Victoria.
This is a 14 year old truck and we are starting to see time critical failures occur! How can we expect our emergency services to respond effectively with outdated equipment?
