On 27 November FRV asked for an inspection of the dedicated Ladder Platform stationed at Ballarat. On 19 December its compliance plate became invalid and today it was taken off line due to safety concerns and it being non compliant.
This leaves Victoria’s Western Region from Bacchus Marsh to the SA Border without an appliance capable of rapid rescue from heights.
At peak tourist season this leaves the public and holiday makers at risk, as well as major public infrastructure such as hospitals.
