The Pumper Tanker at Fire Station 05 Broadmeadows which is designed for both everyday emergencies and grass or scrub fires, is riddled with faults.
It’s been without a functioning roof monitor since NOVEMBER 2024, leaving firefighters without the ability to deliver 4,000 litres of water per minute, critical for dousing large structure fires and protecting property. Without it, their ability to respond is severely compromised.
On top of that, an unresolved engine fault warning could lead to catastrophic failures at any moment. This isn’t just a Broadmeadows issue, fire trucks across Melbourne and Regional Victoria are breaking down DAILY due to chronic underfunding of Fire Rescue Victoria.
Victorians deserve better who pay for a world-class fire service, not this dangerous neglect.
