Firefighters at Fire Station 89 Springvale faced a serious failure. The crew was responded to a fully alight garage fire when the spare and out of date fire truck they were using had a faulty pump controller. The pump randomly kept switching to idle while crews were inside, causing the pressure on their hose lines to completely drop.
This is a dangerous situation that puts firefighters’ lives at risk.
Confidence in the equipment and also in the leadership of FRV Commissioner Freeman is rapidly fading. How can firefighters trust their safety when they can’t rely on their trucks?
This isn’t just putting firefighters at risk – it’s putting Victorians in danger. If firefighters can’t rely on their equipment, how can Victorians trust they’ll be safe when it matters most?
