Firefighters Condemn 11-Year-Old “Temporary” Rehabilitation Unit

Originally introduced in 2013 as a “temporary fix” this rehabilitation unit has been taken out of service due to a long list of faults.

Despite a 2019 proposal to replace it, FRV’s two new rehab units remain unfinished, sitting semi-completed for most of this year.

This vehicle is critical for firefighter recovery at fires, providing a place to cool down and prevent heat exhaustion. With summer here, the lack of a proper rehab unit puts our firefighters at serious risk.

This is yet another damning example of the ongoing Fire Crisis in Victoria, relying on outdated, worn-out “temporary” fixes for over a decade is unacceptable.
