House Fire in Point Cook hampered by lack of Aerial Appliances

A multi storey House Fire in Point Cook yesterday morning, involving the rescue of a 15-year-old boy.

The crews on the ground have been commended for their brave actions, however the incident yet again brings into sharp focus the precarious position of Victoria’s Fire Rescue Service Fleet.

Earlier this month, Western Melbourne was left without a Teleboom following the removal of Teleboom 44 from Sunshine. This has left Western Melbourne without a dedicated multi storey rescue service

The only available multi storey appliance available in the Western Suburbs, stationed at Footscray, broke down as the incident unfolded.

A Teleboom from Richmond was required to render assistance.

Melbourne’s Western Suburbs are bearing the brunt of Victoria’s Fire Truck Crisis. Time and again the community is being left with inadequate coverage and experiencing breakdowns on scene.

Jacinta Allan must act urgently to fix this crisi
