In response to a question concerning Victoria’s Fire Truck Crisis, The Minister for Emergency Services, Jaclyn Symes, claimed that she regularly caught up with firefighters to hear their needs.
At FS 01, a short distance from her Ministerial office, a rehab unit is parked. It is literally held together by grey tape.
Also stationed at FS 01 is an Ultra Large Pumper that first hit the road in 1995. An appliance that is not up to standard and should have been off the road over a decade ago.
Firefighters at FS 01 (FRV HQ), extend an opportunity to the Minister and Premier Jacinta Allan to take the short stroll down the road from their Ministerial office and check out the state of Victoria’s Fire Rescue Fleet and see whether it is fit for purpose.
