Outdated Fire Trucks in Melbourne Putting Lives at Risk!

This morning, firefighters at Fire Station 01 Eastern Hill were unable to respond to a fire call because the passenger door on their pumper wouldn’t close.

This fire truck is nearly 20 years old, exceeding Fire Rescue Victoria’s 15-year service life policy by 5 years. This failure is the result of a catastrophic lack of investment by the state government in FRV’s fleet.

This is simply not good enough. Outdated and failing fire trucks are gambling with people’s lives, and it’s only a matter of time before this leads to tragedy.
