St Kilda Firefighters Hampered by Faulty Equipment!

Summer’s coming, and fires aren’t just a regional problem!

Yesterday, firefighters from Windsor Station 35 responded to a grass fire on the St Kilda foreshore. Pumper 35B arrived first, but the crew’s quickest attack option – the pre-attached “live reel” hose – burst back at the truck, leaving them scrambling.

These hoses are crucial for a rapid response! A malfunction puts firefighters AT RISK and delays containing the fire, endangering our community. This is just another example of the FIRE CRISIS plaguing FRV fire stations across Victoria.

Where’s the action from Premier Allan and Minister Symes? We need them to acknowledge this crisis and take action to ensure our firefighters have the equipment they need to keep us safe!
